Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires Title I schools to engage all parents and family members through programs, activities, and procedures that promote meaningful involvement. In accordance with ESSA Section 1116(a), each Title I school must develop a School-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy that outlines expectations and strategies for family engagement. Similarly, the District is required to adopt a District-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy. Both the District and its Title I schools have developed these policies, which are now being submitted for Board review. This item will return for Board action at the June 17, 2025, Board Meeting. |
